Maybe a price war is on its way between T-Mobile and Wal-Mart Inc. As Wal-Mart vie for the holiday season’s customer cash by selling the Google Android T-Mobile HTC G1 smartphone at a discounted price.Wal-Mart will carry Google Inc’s G1 smartphone which is sold through Deutsche Telekom AG’s T-Mobile USA, in 550 of their stores for just $148.88 for new customers; while existing customers will be offered an upgrade if they sign for 2 years.
T-Mobile USA is currently offering the G1 for $179.99 so they can save $31.11 simply by buying the G1 from Wal-Mart. However with the run up to the holiday season will this force T-Mobile USA to reconsider the price and enter a pricing war?
